At WCFS, our staff are fully dedicated to serving God by serving your family, coming alongside you and your family as you seek to follow God's call in your lives.

Gary Cox

SUPERINTENDENT

  • Gary received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible with a minor in Christian Education from Washington Bible College in Lanham, Maryland.

    After college, he taught math and science in both junior and senior Christian high schools for eight years. He also has 51 years administrative experience in education and business.

    Through his research for home instruction, Gary acquired much paralegal experience. As part of graduate work, he developed the home instruction program for Wellspring Christian Fellowship - the sponsoring church of WCFS. Gary has served as the Senior Pastor at Wellspring Christian Fellowship since 1977.

    Gary enjoys carpentry and farming as family hobbies.

    He and his wife Sally have been married for 53 years. They have 10 children, all of whom graduated from WCFS, and 53 grandchildren, many of whom now attend WCFS!

Joseph Cox

Records Specialist

  • Joseph, a five year WCFS staff member, returned to the Wellspring Christian Family Schools team in 2025 as our Records Specialist. He brings a heart for education and discipleship to his role and is committed to serving the WCFS community.

    Joseph graduated from WCFS in 2013, and completed the three-year diploma in Biblical Exposition and Church Ministry from EI Bible School. Following his graduation, Joseph moved to Costa Rica, married Ericka (met at EI, from Costa Rica), and spent five years living in Costa Rica, where he taught a variety of subjects, including English, Bible, Science, Math, Social Studies, and Volleyball. 

    Outside of work, Joseph enjoys exploring the great outdoors with Ericka through hiking and birdwatching, or staying active through volleyball and soccer (he's a big fan of fútbol!).

    Joseph is passionate about enjoying God's world around us and finding ways to worship Him in all aspects of life. He is grateful to be part of the WCFS community and looks forward to serving alongside the team.

Becky Wyand

ACADEMIC SUPERVISOR

  • Becky attended Juniata College, Shepherd College, and Shippensburg University where she received her Master's in Education.

    Besides being a help to her husband and raising two sons in the Lord, Becky taught and was later principal of a Christian school.

    She loves reading and shares the "hobby" of ministering to others in her home.

    Becky, an advocate of Championship Education, has served and encouraged WCFS homeschool moms to love their husbands and children since 1985.

Donna Fleharty

REGISTRAR

  • Donna joined WCFS in July of 2012.

    She serves as WCFS's Registrar, Director of Finances and Accounting, and Event Coordinator.

    A veteran homeschool mom with WCFS for 20 years, Donna's years of practical experience in the world of home instruction are an invaluable asset to our team.

    Donna has 4 adult children, all graduates of WCFS, and two grandchildren. She enjoys time and with family and friends, especially in the great outdoors.

Ruth Shell

ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

  • Ruth joined WCFS in July of 2019.

    She serves as WCFS's Administrative Secretary, Audio/Video/Web Design Technician, Director of Social Media, and Teacher's Aide.

    Ruth was homeschooled through WCFS from K - 12, and graduated with the class of 2017.

    Ruth enjoys good stories, history, nature, cows, photography, chess, the wild west, and outer space!

Miriam Benkendorf

IGNITIA SUPPORT SPECIALIST

  • Miriam joined WCFS in September of 2021.

    She served as WCFS's facilities custodian, Ignitia guru, and executive assistant to the superintendent, Mr. Gary Cox until the summer of 2024 when she married Joshua Benkendorf and moved to West Virginia. She now works remotely as WCFS’s Ignitia support specialist, social media and website manager, and graphic designer.

    Miriam was homeschooled under WCFS from K - 12, and graduated with the class of 2020.

    She loves languages, art, music, reading, and especially training dogs and working with children.

Francy Shell

AFFILIATE RECORDS SPECIALIST

  • Francy joined WCFS in January of 2022.

    She is WCFS' affiliate records specialist, assisting our affiliate programs with their student records.

    Francy was homeschooled under WCFS from K - 12, and graduated with the class of 2017.

    Francy enjoys good conversations, chickens, ice skating, video editing, art and music.

Board of Directors

  • Our school is operated by the Board of Wellspring Christian Fellowship which has appointed a school Advisory Board consisting of parents of enrolled or graduated students.

    They oversee the financial and general development of the school.
