What is Foundations?
WCFS has purchased a school based subscription that allows us to offer highly discounted 12 month account licenses to our families, and families of our affiliates. One 12 month license through WCFS is only $80, half of the $159/year cost when purchasing a license from Rosetta Stone as an individual.
Our subscription
A single license can be used by multiple consecutive students to take multiple consecutive courses. It cannot be used by students simultaneously, or be enrolled in more than one language at a time.
All licenses purchased this year will expire next September 8, 2027. There is no limit to the number of languages that may be taken during this year.
NOTE: Our price is based on the purchase of a single individual license. Parents desiring multiple licenses may call the office for discount pricing on the additional licenses, available to WCFS parents only when licensing more than one student.
Account Usage
The Rosetta Stone Foundations program is a tried and true program that has been vetted for high school usage and credit, while allowing for varied course intensities through curriculum study settings. See the table below to compare the available options.
Each available language is administered through a Lesson - Unit - Level structure, with 4 lessons per unit, 4 units per level, and from 3 to 5 levels depending on the language of study.
Credit is awarded based on the number of levels completed, the study setting used, and the time taken to complete them. Briefly, each level is worth .5 credit when 100% of the content is completed at a Core or Honors curriculum study setting, within the equivalent of 1 semester (9 weeks). Lesser intensities such as Fundamentals, skipped lessons, or extended semester length will result in less credit. Depending on the number of levels in your chosen language of study, and the study method you choose, your student may earn up to 2.5 High School foreign language credits from a single course.
