Cost: $3/vehicle (MD resident); $5/vehicle (out-of-state)
To bring: Hiking/walking shoes, good socks, plenty of water, bug spray and sunscreen
Green Ash Trail - Visitors seeking an adventure love this trail. There are several steep slopes and very little level ground, making this trail a challenge. This is a MODERATE level trail, it does not sound conducive to strollers.
Directions from their site about parking: "All trails begin at the trailhead parking lot on Gambrill Park Road, between the Rock Run area and the High Knob area. If parking at the trailhead is full, visitors must continue up the mountain to High Knob. Many trails can be accessed throughout the High Jnob area. Trail maps are available at the nature center bulletin board." I (Dawn) haven't hiked here before, so we'll learn together!
